Important notice: Restoration work on the Sistine Chapel
From February 1st to May 1st, the Vatican Museums will undertake specialized conservation activities on Michelangelo’s Last Judgment in the Sistine Chapel. During this entire period the wall containing the fresco will be entirely covered by scaffolding. Although the Sistine Chapel will remain open and accessible to visitors, the Last Judgment will not be visible during the restoration work.
We appreciate your understanding as this iconic work of art is undergoing essential conservation work.
